Who are the Tallest in Men’s Gymnastics?

Posted on 23 February 2009 by admin

Coach Rick McCharles at GymnasticsCoaching posted about some of the tallest women’s gymnasts of all time. Well, it’s time that we update our list of the tallest men in collegiate gymnastics.  As of now, there are at least 12 gymnasts who are six feet tall or taller.  Here is the updated list.  If we have left anybody out, please let us know.

  • Russell Czeschin – Oklahoma – 6′ 3"
  • Matt Greenfield – Penn State – 6′ 2"
  • Kip Druecke – Air Force – 6′ 2"
  • Luke Stannard – Illinois – 6′ 1"
  • Jeff Harris – James Madison – 6′ 1"
  • Stirling Van Winkle – James Madison – 6′ 1"
  • Nic Blair – Cal – 6′ 0"
  • Ben Ketelson – Iowa – 6′ 0"
  • Gabriel Alvarado – Stanford – 6′ 0"
  • John Martin – Stanford – 6′ 0"
  • Matt Holmes – William & Mary – 6′ 0"
  • Sloan Crawford – William & Mary – 6′ 0"

This is great inspiration for younger gymnasts who might still believe that gymnastics is only for shorter people.  How about this for even more inspiration?  Oklahoma’s Russell Czeschin (6′ 3") is a two-time All-American on floor.  Czeschin is a full 14 inches taller than Jonathan Horton!  Thanks to Coach Rick for reminding us to update our list of six-footers.
