What is Your Favorite Men’s Gymnastics Movie?

Ours is Peaceful Warrior, which stars Scott Mechlowicz, Nick Nolte and Amy Smart. The screenplay is loosely based on the true story of Dan Millman, who competed for Cal in the late 1960s. Nolte plays Socrates, who ends up becoming Millman’s mentor. "Millman struggles to make sense of his life in which he is successful, but still unfulfilled." Millman had it all… success, women, academic smarts and confidence, but still felt a deep void in his life.

Socrates has a very unorthodox way of instilling values and influencing Millman to "take out the trash" that cluttered his mind. Millman initially is skeptical and resists, but eventually adopts this new mindset, which "values being conscious over being smart, and strength in spirit over strength in body."

Millman is a successful auther of several best-selling books. The screenplay for Peaceful Warrior is based on Millman’s best seller, Way of the Peaceful Warrior. We highly recommend it.
