Two Powerhouse Club Programs Make Quite an Impact at Future Stars

Posted on 01 December 2016 by admin

Ten gymnasts from two different gyms earned spots on the Future Stars National Development Team.  Gymnastics Olympica (Van Nuys, CA) and Lakeshore Academy (Chicago, IL) each produced five gymnasts who were among the top finishers at last month’s National Future Stars competition at the U.S. Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs, CO.  Both teams also boast having two gymnasts each on the Junior National Team:  Ohio State signee Max Andryushchenko (Level 10) and Cody Troha (Level 8) from Lakeshore — Sam Phillips (Level 9) and Julian Brutchin-Roose (Level 9) from Gymnastics Olympica.  Phillips was the Level 9 (age 13) all-around champ at the 2016 JO Nationals.  The two programs constitute 20% of the 50-member developmental squad.  That’s quite a pipeline of gymnastics talent emerging from these programs!
