Stanford Men’s Gymnastics Peaking for the Post Season

Stanford easily dispatched UIC 359.70 to 336.70 last night in the regular season finale for both teams. The Cardinal posted their highest ever team score, meaning that they are peaking at the right time as they head into next weekend’s MPSF Championships.

The Cardinal were red-hot on floor (61.80), rings (60.75) and vault (63.00).  Tim Gentry turned in a couple a great scores on rings (15.4) and vault (16.15) to lead Stanford.  Sho Nakamori claimed the all-around title with a season-high 89.75.  Andrew Stover led UIC with an 84.15 all-around score.

Stanford posted four scores over 15.00 on rings and had everybody with scores over 15.00 on vault.  Additionally they also tallied their season high team score on parallel bars.

Next weekend’s MPSF Championships will be a barnburner with Stanford, Cal and Oklahoma all duking it out for the first time this season.  Oklahoma is coming off an NCAA record-breaking performance last weekend.
