Joey Hagerty places 5th at 2nd Stage of Champions Trophy

2008 Olympian Joey Hagerty placed fifth in the all-around at the second stage of the Champions Trophy, which was held yesterday in Berlin. Germany’s Fabian Hambuchen trounced the field with a winning score of 91.575. The hard-working Hambuchen will next compete at the World Championships in London, where he will be considered one of the favorites to win the all-around title.
The Champions Trophy competition will continue shortly after Worlds in Hannover on October 25. The event will conclude in Stuttgart on November 15. This unique competition involves eight men who compete in an all-around format. Hagerty has already indicated that he probably won’t compete in all four stages.
