The Illinois men’s gymnastics team recently got a big boost with the addition of Yoshi Mori.  According to the Illini’s season preview, the widely anticipated arrival of Mori became official.  Although his recruitment and signing were somewhat under the radar, he enrolled this month and is expected to contribute right away.

Mori, who trained at New Hope, was a U.S. Junior National Team member from 2007 through 2009.  He finished tied for 4th AA at the 2009 JO Nationals and qualified for event finals on pommel horse, vault, parallel bars and high bar.  A strong all-arounder, Mori will provide coach Justin Spring with a lot of options.
