Four U.S. Gymnasts to Compete at Moscow Stars World Cup

Four members of the U.S. Men’s Senior National Team will be competing at the Moscow Stars World Cup May 29-30. Oklahoma Assistant Coach, Rustam Sharipov will accompany the team. These gymnasts will be competing on individual apparatus for World Cup points and prize money.
- David Sender (Rings & vault)
- Guillermo Alvarez (Floor & pommel horse)
- Chris Brooks (Floor, vault & high bar)
- Raj Bhavsar (Rings & parallel bars)
This will be the first international competition as a Senior National Team Member for Oklahoma All-American Chris Brooks. U.S. Olympic Team member, Raj Bhavsar, will be competing for the first time since the Beijing Olympics, while Sender’s appearance will be his first competition since finishing 2nd in the All-Around at the ’09 Tyson American Cup. Alvarez last competed at the ’09 Winter Cup, where he placed 4th in the All-Around.
Thirty-one nations will be represented at this meet. Notable athletes competing will be Brazil’s Diego Hypolito (FX,V,HB), Netherland’s Epke Zonderland (HB) and Great Britain’s pommel horse whiz Louis Smith.
