Fabian Hambuechen is Ready to Challenge for Gold
Posted on 24 July 2008 by admin
Germany’s Fabian Hambuechen, AKA The Flea, will be one of the top gymnasts to watch in Beijing. The 2007 European and World high bar champion is the favorite to win the high bar competition. In fact, he will compete for gold in the all-around. Flea was only 16 years old when he competed at the 2004 Athens Olympics, where he garnered a silver medal on high bar.
Team USA has its own crowd pleaser, Justin Spring, on high bar. If Spring is on, he’ll definitely be able to give Flea a run for the gold. Spring and Flea seem to be two peas in a pod, always at the ready to bring the fans to their feet. Spring, the son of an astronaut, also thrives on the attention of his adoring fans.
We’re liable to see quite a show in two weeks. Both of these athletes will be pushing the envelope in Beijing. Check out the video of Fabian Hambuechen we have posted.
