In the final regular season meet of the year, Michigan (445.75) overwhelmed UIC (401.75).  In his last home regular season performance, senior Sam Mikulak did not disappoint.  Though he only competed on four events, it was his most dominating display of the NCAA season.  Mikulak had a 15.58 average, winning event titles on FX (15.85), PH (15.25), PB (15.70) and HB (15.50).  Now starting to peak heading into the post season, he is undoubtedly on a mission to win NCAA titles in the AA, and as many as possible on individual events.  More importantly, his peak scoring potential will greatly enhance his team’s chances of repeating as NCAA champs.  The Wolverines established a new national team standard on PB (76.70), with four gymnasts achieving scores of 15.30 or better (Syque Caesar-15.55, Nick Hunter-15.40, Stacey Ervin-15.30 & Mikulak).  Stacey Ervin had yet another strong outing on FX (15.80), bringing his average over the last four meets to a dazzling 15.81, which is tops in the nation.  Senior Matt Freeman won the SR title (15.15) in his last home meet.  Nick Hunter had an outstanding night, setting career highs on PB (15.40) and HB (15.30), and nearly matching his career best on PH (14.60).  In his “third Senior Night,” Syque Caesar also had quite a swan song, averaging close to 15 on four events.  Caesar had top 3 marks on VT (15.05), PB (15.55) and HB (15.15).  Freshman Tristian Perez-Rivera and Konner Ackerman shared the VT title (15.25).  Leading UIC once again was Jason Gaides in the AA (82.80).

Michigan honored the following graduating seniors:  Syque Caesar, Matt Freeman, Jordan Gaarenstroom, AJ Schottstaedt, Alex Bubnov, Kevin Fraser and Dylan James.

Air Force (426.70) dominated the USAG Collegiate Championships, defeating William & Mary (422.75), Army (414.60), Navy (413.65) and Springfield College (403.10).  The two-day event featured the team and AA competition on Friday, concluding with event finals on Saturday.  The Falcons won four team event titles (PH,SR,PB,HB), and captured four individual titles on FX (Dennis Aurelius-15.225), PH (Nick Owen-14.95), PB (Josh Ramos-14.25) and HB (Nick Gaudlip-15.05).  William & Mary’s Landon Funiciello (SR-16.00) and Neal Courter (VT-15.15) won the remaining event titles.  The AA went to Army’s Jesse Glenn (86.00), followed by William & Mary’s Daniel Potemski (85.20) and Air Force’s Timmy Wang (84.60).  Arizona State (405.85) won the Club Division title over Washington (383.65), powered by Tim Wilkerson’s winning AA performance (82.65).

On with the post season!  Next weekend will feature three conference championships–Big 10, MPSF and ECAC.  Both the Big 10 and MPSF (FoxSports SW) will be televised.  The Big 10 Championships will be televised live on the Big 10 Network on Friday (Team/AA @ 7:00pm EDT) and Saturday (Events @ 5:00pm EDT).
